Ever get those emails from recruiters that misspell your name, pitch you a role not remotely relevant, and in general look like crap? Here’s what they are:
Spam. That’s it.
There’s some big national/international recruiting companies that hire folks that have the ability to sniff out posted resumes (and emails) and blast away. The “throw it at the wall and see if it sticks” approach.
It does not work.
It makes my job harder because “ALL U RECRUITERZ DO IS SEND ME JUNK” responses (I see you software engineers). But realize most of that comes from legit spammers or super junior folks that started yesterday.
It makes my job easy because “hey you seem to know how to use words, you’re not like those spammers.” It’s a win for the good guys.
What do you do? Just delete. OR, give them your buddy’s email and tell them how excited THEY WOULD BE to work with them. Lol.
