Networking with your network

Networking with your network

Remember when we jumped in and started networking with hiring managers, recruiters, and people at companies we were interested in?

Yeah, it’s not the most pleasant thing, but oh well.  Here’s something that might feel less weird.  Reach out and connect to people in your own field.

If you’re a Recruiter, a Scrum Master, or a Salesperson, or a whatever – there’s no better person to “talk shop” with.  Search and find them all!  Plus – they’ll see you as a peer and someone (despite your internet stranger-ness) they might find use to have in their network.  Each person knows different things, and you can certainly learn about how they got to these stages in their career too.  Likely, it’ll be a very different pathway than you took – which can give you inspiration in your search.

With this move, I’m not trying to get them to help me, but to just kind of boost your “community”.  (I’m already reaching out to all my target companies anyway…)  You never know who you’ll meet, and it’ll give you a chance to help others as well.

(Oh, and it’s also a super easy LinkedIn move too.  You can do a ton of this in an hour or two..)

are you ready?

Don't wait for your career. Go get it.
