In previous posts, I talked about the “tell me about yourself” interview question, but let’s take it a bit further and work on how you’re pitching yourself in general.
I’ll use… me as an example. Eek.
So I’ve been active on LI since ’08. It’s my #1 tool to network and connect to people – which I MUST in order to get a paycheck. The platform is essentially my home page and my most useful billboard for my business. Make it yours as well. OR – find another platform that may work better for you. A personal website, possibly?
What I’m trying to do is to share stuff that I know to people that don’t know it. Most of the info is public, but I want ME to be the one people think of when they need it. The more GOOD info you put out there, the more people will look to you as an expert, and hopefully begin to come your way.
Some of you have been reading my frequent posts (yay), but I also try and make it clear as to what services I offer, how to reach me, and tons of testimonials.
There’s 1000s of other recruiters out there. Some are good, some are awful. I’m consciously trying to stay visible, and stay ahead of my competition. I just happen to be in a sales type industry, so really, I have to.
You can do that kind of thing too. Hone your pitch, get it out into the world. Just go!
