Ever get discouraged that nobody is responding to you?
Yeahhh. That’s very common. Especially if you’re hammering the job boards (even though I told you not to). The thing is, well, two things… is that you can control what you do BUT you can’t control what others are doing.
A job search can really be a numbers game. I use a baseball analogy a lot here – if you hit .300 you’re in the Hall of Fame. Hit .200 and you’re out of the League. That really just means keep going. At some point you’ll make contact and hit it over the Ivy in left field.
The people on the other side don’t know you yet. They might not check LI enough. Might be out sick. It’s really never personal, and a lot of times merely timing that prevents a connection.
You need to test and keep working on your approach, but remember to focus on the ones that DO get back to you. Because they like what they see and that’s what’s gonna get you where you want to go in the end. It’s ok to get a little ticked off. Keep the head down, keep working.
