Covert Core Value: Quality

One of my long time hiring managers previously worked with two recruiters, and hired from both.

One recruiter would literally send a DOZEN resumes and ask if he wanted to talk to any.  The “throw em at the wall approach.”  They did surface level conversations, minimal prep, and often lost candidates along the way because they had no clue where else they were interviewing.  Every once in a while they got a good candidate and made a hire, but the % was low.

The other recruiter would send a LinkedIn link or resume and say “talk to this person.”  Again, there was minimal prep, minimal discussion about background, teams, culture.  BUT, that person delivered awesome candidates.  Again, they’d make hires.

But doesn’t that suck?!?  

Where’s the QUALITY in service there?  There’s none, and it leaves my client with a bad taste in their mouth.  And occasionally a hire, but that they had to do way more than they needed to.


Same goes for candidates.  You deserve to have an informative, positive experience when you’re working with a recruiter, regardless whether you get the job or not.  That’s what we’re promising – a higher QUALITY experience while working with recruiters.
